Youth Fellowship Ministry

Goodwin Memorial Baptist Church’s (GMBC) Youth Fellowship Ministry (YFM) is committed to welcoming and ministering to all teens between the ages of 13-20 who are members or nonmembers of GMBC. These standards fall in line with our church Mission and Vision to embody our commitment of ministering to those entrusted into our care.

GMBC’s YFM is comprised of teens from 13-20 who meet weekly on Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Family Life Center to study God’s word and to discuss how to apply the Bible to the situations that they face on a daily basis. Topics of discussion have included, but are not limited to: Making Good Choices, Fitness and Health; College Preparation and Expectations; Careers After High School; How to Obtain and Maintain Good Grades; the Importance of Being Organized and Keeping a Personal Calendar; Facebook Etiquette; Joy; Military Service; Salvation; Thinking Big; Dreaming Big; Humor and Laughter; Domestic Violence; the Criminal Justice System; Women’s Health; Service to God and Community and GMBC’s Monthly Focus Phrases.

We spend approximately one session a quarter doing a lesson on survival skills. To date, those lessons have focused on making a bed properly, the proper setting of a table; first aid; car maintenance; and self defense. The YFM’s leadership team and speakers, who are members of GMBC, as well as outside of GMBC, give lively presentations on the various topics discussed. We also learn the books of the Bible.

The YFM believes building relationships with one another is extremely important. For further information on joining this exciting ministry, please see our guidelines on Youth Fellowship Ministry, or contact the church office at 717 238 4400.

Children’s Church

Matthew 19:14 NIV

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Goodwin Memorial Baptist Church provides child-focused teachings of the Bible which are flexible friendly and fun. As well as our church members, we welcome all visiting non members between the ages of 6-12.

Through Children’s Church programs, boys and girls in our church and the community can build healthy relationships with caring Christian adults, peers, and most importantly, Jesus Christ. Our Christian Education team actively promotes the values of Goodwin to our children, added with the understanding of church etiquette; and respect for God. Each child should come to Children’s Church prepared with their Bibles and eager to learn. Any child who does not have a Bible will be given one to help them connect with our Lord.

For further information please contact the church office on 717 238 4400.
